Green Chemistry

Green chemistry looks to reduce our society’s toxic burden through the design of products and processes that minimize or eliminate hazardous substances. This emerging field has been gaining momentum across the world, and the Great Lakes Green Chemistry Network Working Group seeks to foster the growth of this field within the Great Lakes region.

Founded in 2006, the Great Lakes Green Chemistry Network is composed of representatives from non-governmental organizations, industry, academia, and government officials. Together, they are promoting the practice of green chemistry in the region, and redefining the chemical legacy of the Great Lakes.
